SUMMARY:Preparation for Surgery
DESCRIPTION:For those needing a formal weight loss attempt to meet insurance criteria – our insurance specialist will register you for this class if needed. This 60 minute class meets multiple times each month; however\, participants are only required to attend once per month. You will need to stay after class for your weigh-in. The format includes 30 minutes of education by the nurse and dietitian on dietary changes\, incorporating exercise/movement into your life and the behavioral changes necessary to facilitate Success after Surgery\, followed by 30 minutes of support group discussion. For Centennial patients who are completing their insurance requirements for surgery. The cost is $250 for every three months. Register with the insurance specialists.

SUMMARY:Pre-Op Class
DESCRIPTION:This class is mandatory for all patients undergoing weight loss surgery at Centennial. We want to insure you are fully prepared for what to expect leading up to surgery\, every day during your hospital stay and when you are first discharged from the hospital. This two hour class will be scheduled by your surgeon’s office in conjunction with your pre-admission testing. You will hear from a registered nurse\, a registered dietitian and a pharmacist during class. You will then meet one on one with a pharmacist who will review the medications you are taking (be sure to bring your medications and the name and number of your pharmacy.) You will have the option to purchase vitamins and supplements onsite. This is the time to take care of any co-pays or deductibles due to the surgeon or hospital.
