Blood Sugar and Meds

Postby dkpalk on Thu Mar 17, 2011 8:28 am

I am 18 days post op from having gastric bypass surgery with Dr. Houston. I have 2 issues that I am concerned about. I am not diabetic but have always had problems with blood sugar feeling too low when I get hungry. Now since surgery, I am getting my protein in every 4-6 hours, but it doesnt seen to curb that low blood sugar "feeling." After I eat my protein, I still feel like I need a little something with sugar in it. Why am I feeling this way and what can I do to get rid of that feeling?

My second concern is with my medicines. I take a medicine for RLS that I have crushed and have tried cutting in half and I have had this issue with Tylenol. Anytime I take these medicines, I get extremely hot, sweaty, and nauseated. Does anyone else experience this? Im getting scared to take my medicines.

Im getting tired of feeling bad. When will it get better? Help!

I really hope you discuss this with DR. Houston who has the most knowledge about the medicine you are prescribed. I realize this response is late and hopefully you have already worked this out with him.
