Experienced and Dedicated Professionals are the basis of the Centennial Experience

Our experienced, dedicated Bariatric Surgeons have performed over 3000 successful laparoscopic weight loss surgery procedures with mortality and complication rates well below the national average. The experience and dedication does’t begin or end with the surgery.

Our staff are devoted to making your Weight Loss Surgery journey as pleasant and successful as possible. Our patients undergo surgery at Centennial’s Women’s Hospital. The staff at Women’s Hospital are trained specifically on how to provide the best care for our patients. Our Financial Counselors are well versed in the criteria most insurance companies require you to meet prior to approving your surgery and are happy to guide you through the approval process. Our Registered Dietitians provide comprehensive nutritional counseling for all stages of your weight loss journey. Beginning and maintaining an exercise program can seem overwhelming; however, this is an important component not to be overlooked. Our Exercise Physiologist will assist you with developing an exercise program to meet your needs. Laboratory services are offered onsite for your convenience. Our Psychological Support Program includes weekly Psychologist led support groups that coincide with our clinic and group follow up appointments. Additional meetings are offered in the evening. The Management Team of our center is devoted to ensuring your needs are met beginning with our informational seminars and throughout the approval process as well as after surgery. We know for you to be the most successful long-term, you need to continue to access our services long-term.We believe our “one stop shop” approach with all services located in one building allow for easier follow up visits. Remember, YOU must be an active participant in YOUR journey!

Additionally, many of our staff are also our patients. We believe the support you receive from your friends, your family, and your co-workers can be invaluable to your success; however, we also realize there are times you need to speak with someone who has “been there, done that” and we are happy to serve as that resource!

Psychological Support Program

Bariatric patients who participate in post-surgical support groups have significantly better results than those who do not. Our patients report that they enjoy and benefit from our support groups. We offer the following specialty support groups: Men Only, Bands Only, Back on Track as well as an internet based group. In an effort to provide ongoing support following weight loss surgery, Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity has contracted with a team of psychologists to provide an extensive psychological support program. This program is available to all Centennial patients without additional fee.

These professionals provide a comprehensive program specifically designed to assist all of our patients with the challenges of recovering from obesity.

Most weight loss surgery patients will experience a number of emotional, psychological, and social challenges in the months following surgery. While many of these challenges are very positive in nature, some of the more difficult issues can become stumbling blocks in an otherwise wonderful discovery process. Common problems our patients encounter include lingering self-esteem problems, “head hunger”, self defeating behaviors, assertiveness issues, anger management problems, self-confidence, boundary problems, difficulty adjusting to new social expectations, intimacy issues, challenges in their primary relationship, lingering body image issues, and a host of others. Many of these challenges are temporary in nature but feel overwhelming at first. This program is designed to assist our patients during a critical time in their transformation to a healthy enhanced life style.

Participation in the program is not mandatory. However, we strongly encourage all of our patients to seriously consider making this commitment to yourself. You have made a decision to change your life dramatically, and support through this transition can make a positive difference in the results you experience. You are encouraged to invite concerned friends and loved ones to attend the meetings with you. Click here to see our schedule of meetings.
